April Ross

April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is among the few female players of beach volleyball to have done so. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. The next time she has the chance to do so at the age of 39. The athlete is optimistic she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross stated via NBC Boston: "If we do our best and even if we just play well, I think we could win the gold medal." So I'm going to take a little bit of luck also. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister were residents there. The athletic pursuits she pursued was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of sports. When she was a student in the prep school, she competed in the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball and track. In the last sport, she clearly stood out. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker, outside setter and hitter at the tennis court as per her bio at the college. Gatorade Circle of Champions named her the National Player in 1999. Her skills in volleyball won her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Ross and Klineman began the partnership in 2017, but Ross was a beach scene celebrity for a long time prior to. It's true that she has won numerous events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. From 2007-2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were an impressive force on the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009 with each other. In 2012, the pair took silver in London's Olympic Games. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends which won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, beat their opponents to claim the gold. As fate would have it Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to starting her professional career. She played in high school, and even some years before she hit the beaches as a professional. Her time at the school was one to remember. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of Award and also be named an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. The second season of her career she was devastated by a personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. Through her two final years with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross had been an international studies major at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter make it to the top of the beach volleyball ladder. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Ross is still awed by her parents who passed away. Margie is a source of inspiration in her life and on the beaches.
