Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub (American actress and comedian, as well as activist) is a comedian. After immigrating to America she was born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents. Her career began as an actress in her early years as a child. Her appearances as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials from 2013 until 2016 - and from 2020 on - earned her acclaim. She was also a frequent series regular on Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015) and played a part in a recurring role in the NBC drama This Is Us (2016-2017). After being featured in the TV pilot unaired for New Warriors, Vayntrub also is the voice of Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rising. Vayntrub, was a Jewish person, was born in Tashkent (Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic), USSR. At the age of two She and her parents immigrated to the U.S. as refugees to get away from antisemitism. They settled in West Hollywood. Her family's financial difficulties led to her acting in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of five. Vayntrub briefly attended Beverly Hills High School. After her sophomore year, she quit and obtained a GED. She continued however to earn an undergraduate degree in Arts, Communication from University of California San Diego. She was introduced to improv comedy through the Upright Citizens Brigade.
